Bite sized pieces of 2011...and beyond!

It started with a typical, cyclical chocolate craving. What a delicious monster has come of it!

Chococravings combined with a slow day at work had me searching my RSS feed for “chocolate” and reading every post from the last two years. I rediscovered this chocolate chip cookie recipe from the New York Times that took The Internets by storm a couple summers ago. I was intrigued. I had to try it. 

Well, that recipe makes a verifiable buttload of cookies. After baking up two dozen, I knew what to do with the rest of the dough: make those cookie-bottomed cupcakes from How Sweet Eats that have been haunting my chococravings for months! I’m glad to report this cookiecupcakefrosting ridiculousness is a perfect combination of my two favorite desserts. Yum.

In Ann Arbor, one of the college bars serves these amazing cocktails called “fishbowls” in giant 64-ounce mason jars. They a wide variety of flavors, including drinks named after the teams from the 90’s kids show “Legends of the Hidden Temple.” The unseasonably warm March weather had me craving one of these sugar-laden-alcohol-bombs pretty fierce, so I mixed up my own, and served them in a weeknight-friendly size.

2 oz vodka (I used Blue Raspberry by UV)
1 oz coconut rum
1 oz blue curacao
1 oz sour mix
2 oz pineapple juice
3 oz lemon-lime soda
 

Mix, serve over ice and enjoy!
